Ms. Yiu is a corporate and securities lawyer with experience in a wide range of matters including debt and equity financings, acquisitions and take-overs, “going public”, complying with stock exchange and securities regulatory requirements, corporate governance and forming early-stage capital structures. Aside from her expertise in securities and resource-related issues, she regularly advises private companies and individuals on a wide range of matters such as shareholder disputes, corporate reorganizations, partnership/joint venture formations and dissolutions, licensing agreements and lending arrangements.

Before becoming a lawyer, Melody worked several years in the high-tech industry which included managing the e-commerce division of a globally known brand. She provides her legal services through a law corporation.

Alan L. Monk, Associate Counsel

Mr. Monk has practiced corporate / commercial law, securities / corporate finance and mining law for over 15 years.  He has a broad-based corporate / commercial practice which includes the preparation and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts (including option agreements, joint venture agreements and royalty agreements), corporate compliance and transactions including the purchase and sale of companies and assets.

His securities practice includes public and private financings, initial public offerings, and advising on continuous disclosure, corporate governance and regulatory and stock exchange compliance for public companies primarily listed on the TSX and the TSX Venture Exchange.
Alan has been an Adjunct Professor of Mining Law at the University of British Columbia law school since 2009. In addition, he has presented at several legal conferences, has published articles and contributed chapters to books on various subjects relating to mining law.
